High mountain clouds make good tea

Our tea gardens are located at an elevation of 3600 ft from sea level in the Idukki Hills amidst vast bio-diversity. This high elevation gives way to a favourable climate with low temperature, cloudy skies, less sunshine and favourable soil quality to grow high mountain teas.

It is of added benefit that most of our tea gardens are located on rocky terrain, improving quality and nutrient content of the tender tea leaves used for making leaf teas. Although the mineral content of soil of such terrains is suited for tea growing, the yield of such high mountain tea is low compared to others. However, since the process of germination slow, they are found to be rich in taste and aroma components. The advantage of elevation and climate helps us to produce teas that are not only chemical free but rich in taste and aroma.
